COMPUTER INFO FOR NON-GEEKS AND AGING BABY BOOMERS

It is said that computers are dumb. Our children, who have been brought up with electronics, including computers, consider us dumb, as has been the case with teens since the beginning of time. Since we know and accept this premise, we definitely have common ground with the computer and should have no problem communicating with it. With a little information anyone can use a computer and the World Wide Web, it’s really simple.

First, it is very important to get over the fear of the machine, and it is a machine. All of us have used machines for years, lawn mowers, chain saws, power tools; things that can cut off your limbs. Understand that a computer can’t cut off any of your limbs, although it can contribute to carpel tunnel, this is not as quick and can be fixed so you can do it again.

Although I know a glossary should be at the end of any publication, being dumb, given my age, I will put that next. I can do this due to editorial privilege and the need for anyone reading this to know these terms when trying to be perceived as a geek.
